About us - Company overview

Chia Holdings Ltd. is an Australian unlisted public company with interests in all aspects of chia seed production. We are recognised as world leaders in research and development relating to chia seeds, chia plant extracts and chia product development.

Through our wholly-owned subsidiaries and related brands we sell chia seeds world-wide (retail, wholesale and commercial clients) as well as develop and sell a range of chia products.

Chia Holdings responsibly purchases chia seeds from South and Central America, with plans to source seed and plants from independent growers in Australia. Seed is sold on as raw, whole seed and can also be processed into oil, powder, milk, gel, lecithin capsules, chia sprout powder, seed meal, flour blends, cosmetics and other products.

Chia plants can be processed to produce chia extracts and plant oils (a natural preservative, pre-biotic and possibly a natural insect repellent).

The Directors believe that chia products have the potential to rival the market for soy products, with substantial benefits to the overall health of those using chia.

CHL (through Chia Enterprises Pty Ltd) currently packs high quality seeds in 5 kg, 10 kg and 25 kg bags for wholesale and bulk markets and in 500 g and 1 kg zip seal bags for the retail market.

Chia milk is a new product and will initially be available through existing client health food stores as well as selected pharmacy and supermarket chains.
